OXFORD — Miami men’s basketball coach Travis Steele announced Sunday night the signing of guard Stevie Elam for the 2026–27 season.

Elam, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound guard from Adrian, Michigan, arrives after one season at Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where he quickly established himself as a versatile contributor.

As a freshman, Elam appeared in 25 games with 12 starts, averaging 10.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while adding 1.0 steals. He earned Horizon League All-Freshman Team honors after finishing among the conference leaders in several categories, including rebounding (19th) and three-pointers made per game (15th at 2.0).

In league play, Elam’s defensive presence stood out, ranking 11th in steals at 1.3 per game. He scored in double figures 14 times — second-most on the team — and delivered two 20-point performances, including a season-high 22 points against Detroit Mercy on Feb. 20.

Before his collegiate career, Elam built a decorated resume at Adrian High School. He earned Michigan High School First-Team All-State honors and was named Lenawee County Boys Player of the Year after averaging 24.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals as a senior.

Elam finished his prep career with 2,112 points, breaking the Lenawee County all-time scoring record and placing himself among the top 20 scorers in Michigan High School Athletic Association history. He also knocked down 176 3-pointers and shot 84.5 percent from the free-throw line across four varsity seasons.

A multi-sport athlete and standout student, Elam carried a 3.8 GPA, earned all-academic recognition and competed in football, baseball and track during his high school career.
