OXFORD — Antwone Woolfolk will get another season with Miami University.
Miami men’s basketball coach Travis Steele announced Sunday that Woolfolk will return for the 2026-27 season, giving the RedHawks an experienced frontcourt piece from last season’s historic team.
Woolfolk, an honorable mention All-Mid-American Conference selection last season, will use his fifth season of eligibility while continuing work toward his degree.
The forward averaged 9.8 points and 5.3 rebounds during the 2025-26 season, helping Miami complete an undefeated regular season, capture the MAC regular-season championship and earn an NCAA Tournament berth.
“I am excited to welcome Antwone back to the Miami Family for the 2026-27 season,” Steele said. “His impact on this program both on and off the court has meant a great deal to me.”
Woolfolk has started all 67 games he has played during his two seasons at Miami after transferring from Rutgers. His return provides the RedHawks with another veteran presence as Steele prepares his roster for another run at the MAC championship.
For Woolfolk, the decision also provides an opportunity to finish what he started academically while extending his college basketball career.
“My desire to return to the court is about more than playing another season,” Woolfolk said. “It is an opportunity to continue growing as a student-athlete, represent my university with integrity, and contribute to a team through my experience, work ethic and leadership.”
Woolfolk said Miami has helped shape him on and off the court and that returning will allow him to maximize his remaining eligibility while preparing for life beyond basketball.
“I believe I still have meaningful contributions to make both academically and athletically,” Woolfolk said.
Steele said Woolfolk’s return will allow him to complete his degree while continuing to play an important role within the program.
“I am looking forward to Antwone being able to complete his degree while also continuing to help push this program forward,” Steele said.
Miami opens the 2026-27 season Nov. 2 at James Madison.
