HAMILTON — The Hamilton Big Blue picked up back-to-back wins over the Vikings and Aviators, improving to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the GMC.
Hamilton opened the week at home against Princeton and found itself trailing 3-1 entering the bottom of the third inning. The Big Blue responded with three runs to take a 4-3 lead heading into the fourth. Princeton tied the game in the fifth before Hamilton erupted for 10 runs — two in the fifth and eight in the sixth — to secure a 14-4 run-rule victory.
Hamilton finished with 15 hits, led by Tiara Elliot, who went 4-for-4 with three RBIs. Brown, Eversole and Thieken added multi-hit performances, while Davis, Dillard, Hoyte, Rupp and Schappacher each recorded a hit, giving every spot in the lineup at least one.
Emili Schappacher struck out 12 batters, marking her fourth game this season with double-digit strikeouts.
Hamilton traveled Friday to Montgomery/Blue Ash to face Sycamore.
Peyton Eversole opened the scoring with a solo home run, and Hamilton sent eight batters to the plate in the second inning. The rally featured a triple from Alexis Dillard and home runs from Reese Thieken and Eversole. The game was suspended in the bottom of the second inning and resumed Tuesday at Hamilton High School, where Schappacher added a two-run home run to extend the lead to eight in an 8-1 win.
Schappacher recorded a hit, while Eversole had two — both home runs. Dillard, Harness and Thieken also added hits. Hamilton totaled four home runs, with two from Eversole and one each from Thieken and Schappacher.
Schappacher delivered another dominant performance in the circle, pitching a complete game with 13 strikeouts and no walks.
Hamilton returns to action Wednesday on the road against the Indians before hosting Harrison on Thursday.
