OXFORD — The Miami University women’s basketball team has a set roster for the 2025-26 season.
RedHawks coach Glenn Box, who will enter his third season at the helm, made the announcement this past week.
Miami returns Tamar Singer, Amber Tretter, Nuria Jurjo and Ilse de Vries from this past season’s squad that went 19-12 and competed in the WNIT for the first time since 2019.
Tamar Singer, 5-foot-4 sophomore guard (Haifa, Israel)
Singer averaged 6.3 points and a team-best 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals a game for the RedHawks this past season. She shot 75% from the free throw line and 32% from behind the 3-point arc.
“Tamar makes a difference for this team,” Box said. “She gets us up-tempo. She gets us playing fast — which is much more fun to watch, let alone coach.”
Singer played in every game except two — because of an ankle injury — during her freshman season at Miami.
Amber Tretter, 6-foot-1 junior forward (Ferdinand, Ind.)
Tretter will return as the team’s best scorer, who averaged 11.2 points a game this past season behind Enjulina Gonzalez (16.8) and Maya Chandler (11.6). Gonzalez transferred to Georgia and Chandler graduated.
Tretter played in all 31 games in during the 2024-25 season, adding 9.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists a game.
Tretter earned All-MAC Honorable Mention each of the last two seasons and was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team. She has 20 double-doubles for the RedHawks.
Tretter has 508 career rebounds and is on pace to be just the second Miami player in program history to record 1,000 career rebounds.
She had 20 rebounds on Feb. 22, 2025 — which is second most in program and Millett Hall history.

Nuria Jurjo, 5-foot-10 junior guard (Barcelona, Spain)
Jurjo played in 29 games and made four starts last season. She averaged 2.1 points and 1.6 rebounds a game.
As a freshman at Miami, Jurjo played in 29 games and made 11 starts. She averaged 2.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists a contest.

de Vries scored 10 points and added six rebounds in her collegiate debut against Appalachian State.

Emily VanTimmeren, 6-foot-3 redshirt freshman forward (Allendale, Mich.)
VanTimmeren attended Jenison High School in Michigan and enrolled at Miami this past December.
She played the three previous seasons at Grand Rapids Catholic Central, which is the same high school Miami assistant coach Megan Belke graduated from.
“Emily is a young player with oodles of young talent just waiting to be unleashed,” Box said. “She is coming to Miami with a workman-like approach, and she fits right into our culture. She is ready to grow both on and off the court. We are ecstatic both she and her family are a part of our family.”
VanTimmeren averaged 11.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game as a junior. She recorded a triple-double last season, securing 12 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks.
Ashton Elley, 5-foot-10 senior guard (Little Rock, Ark.)
Elley is a transfer from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She averaged 3.7 points, 1.9 rebounds and 42% from beyond the arc during her three years at UAB.

“Mio is another young lady who fits us,” Box said of the junior college transfer. “She’s a worker and a grinder. She brings versatility, IQ and force to our program. Mio fills stat sheets, as she does winning things. We are ecstatic that we have Mio.”
Sakano is an IMG Academy graduate in Japan.
Brooke Blumenfeld, 6-foot redshirt sophomore forward (Northbrook, Ill.)
